The 2004 Conservative Party of Canada leadership election was on 20 March 2004, and had the result of Stephen Harper becoming the first leader of the new Conservative Party of Canada. The Conservative Party was made after the combination of the Canadian Alliance and the Progressive Conservative Party of Canada.

Stephen Harper, the previous leader of the Canadian Alliance, was made leader on the only ballot.[1]
